Meet Helen at Decoding Dyslexia

I'm Helen, the dyslexia assessor and specialist tutor at Decoding Dyslexia. I live in Herne Bay with my family, including my favourite child, Roxy, the Australian Labradoodle. I was inspired to train as a dyslexia specialist and assessor when I found I was tutoring many children with literacy difficulties and I wanted to learn how I could best support them. This lead me to qualify to assess children to enable me to understand the 'why' behind the difficulties and empower parents and teachers with the knowledge and tools needed to build confidence and thrive both academically and beyond.

I know that no two children learn the same way and I am committed to providing personalised assessments that uncover your child’s unique strengths and difficulties. With years of experience in literacy intervention, I provide a pathway to understanding how your child learns best.  My approach is compassionate, thorough and grounded in the latest research into dyslexia. I understand that the journey to a diagnosis can feel overwhelming and am here to guide you every step of the way.
